    Vision of Disorder
One of the most innovative and widely admired bands to emerge from the never-ending collision between hardcore and metal, Vision Of Disorder exploded from the streets of Long Island, NYC, with their self-titled debut album in 1996. Rapidly established as one of the hottest heavy bands on the planet, they were merely reaping the rewards of several years of hard slog as they honed their daring crossover sound across a series of gritty and groundbreaking demos prior to signing with Roadrunner Records’ Supersoul imprint.

    Heltah Skeltah
Heltah Skeltah debuted on Smif-N-Wessun's album Dah Shinin in 1995, appearing on the tracks "Wontime", "Cession at da Doghillee" and "Let's Git It On". Later in 1995, they grouped up with fellow Boot Camp members O.G.C. to form The Fab 5 and released a surprise hit single, "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka". Out of The Fab 5 members, Rock and Ruck received the most amount of attention, due to their notable charisma and chemistry. The duo released their anticipated debut Nocturnal in June 1996, which included "Leflah", as well as the singles "Operation Lock Down" and "Therapy". The album sold over 250,000 copies in the United States, and has become a classic in the underground Hip Hop scene because of its grimy, basement sound and strong lyrics. The duo released a group album with the Boot Camp in 1997, then followed in 1998 with their second effort Magnum Force. The album's lead single, "I Ain't Havin' That" (sampled from the A Tribe Called Quest track "Hot Sex", with the chorus sampling Redman's 1996 hit "Pick it Up"), became a Hot 100 hit.

    Anvil
Their 2009 movie documentary The Story Of Anvil has made them famous the world over, following seemingly endless years of energy-sapping tours de force marked by dismal organisational conditions. Their albums are considered as landmarks among a musical genre which is otherwise successively losing its identity. Their most recent release, Juggernaut Of Justice (2011), was a powerful and unrelenting thunderbolt of the first order. Now Canadian cult metal act Anvil are back with their new studio recording Hope In Hell. The album presents guitarist/vocalist Steve ‘Lips’ Kudlow, drummer Robb Reiner and their new bassist Sal Italiano in top form, highly dynamic and full of energy from the first to the last note. “We’re really proud and already love the new album just as much as our early releases from the beginning of the eighties, because Hope In Hell sounds like Anvil live on stage: natural, honest, unvarnished, never over-produced and straight from the heart.”

    Moot Davis
Moot Davis had to triumph over several trials by fire to create his fourth album Goin’ In Hot, due out April 15, 2014 on Crow Town Records through Burnside. Just days after the song mixes were done, the studio where he recorded the album burned to the ground. Miraculously, engineer Joe McMahan was able to extract the mixes from the hard drive of his melted, water-soaked computer. Besides being thankful no one was hurt in the blaze, the New Jersey born Davis also feels very lucky that the music was saved — “that it was meant to be.”
Davis made this record while recovering from the end of a longtime relationship. “I was so broken up about it just not working that I wrote from there,” Davis admits. The emotional turmoil also served as a creative spark for Davis. “It opened me up to taking a lot of chances musically and not really caring about playing it safe.” After three retro country-based albums that drew favorable comparisons to Hank Williams Sr. and Dwight Yoakam, Goin’ In Hot leans more towards the roadhouse rock than the honky-tonk.

    Sage Francis
Sage Francis is widely considered one of our generation’s greatest lyricists. His career derives mainly from gifted wordplay which creates vivid narratives to instigate as well as inspire, but since it often derives from an accumulation of public disdain and personal turmoil, it’s more about storming the castle than about watching the throne.

    Milo Z
He calls the music “Razzamofunk”, a combination of Rock, Rap, Jazz, Blues & Funk. The sound is what you might expect from a kid growing up on New York City’s Lower East Side (now the East Village). It was a culturally diverse neighborhood once considered the “melting pot”; full of poets, artists, musicians, junkies, punk rockers, winos and families of modest means. From this beginning it seems only natural that Milo Z’s music would have a gritty, funky, soulful and unique edge, hence – Razzamofunk.
Starting out as a drummer and part time bicycle messenger, Milo Z soon came out from behind the drums and began rapping. This eventually led to singing and songwriting. Approximately 90% of Milo Z’s original music is written and composed by him. “I draw on the sounds I heard growing up and mix it with my life and experiences as they happen. When people think of Milo Z, I want them think original.” A total professional, Milo Z sings, dances, conducts, orchestrates, and interacts with the crowd, all the while dressing and grooving in a style that is unique and all his own.

    Smif N Wessun
The dynamic duo of Tek and Steele known as, Smif N’ Wessun, are survivors of the game of hip-hop. Their street slick rhymes, personal chemistry, and ability to trade the mic smoother than a Henny and Coke, are a testament to team work. With a fast break into success, legal trouble that forced a brief name change, and moving into the driver’s seat, from emcees to entrepreneurs, Tek and Steele have stood tall in the face of adversity as an impenetrable force. Natives of Brooklyn, New York, Tek and Steele made their first appearance to the world of hip-hop on Black Moon’s 1993 debut, Enta Da’ Stage. The tracks, “Black Smif N’ Wessun” and “U Da Man,” showcased their fierce and unrestricted lyrics. “Black Smif N’ Wessun” had a hard drum beat and deeply submerged bass-line, as the crew ferociously chanted the chorus. Steele’s opening lines contained an unapologetic/ in your face energy that few have been able to replicate.
